Welcome to “Colours of Love”, the 2024 RWNZ Conference.
The Romance Writers of New Zealand conference is three days of keynotes, workshops, panels, and social events. Or, if you prefer, you can attend just the Friday workshops, or only the Saturday/Sunday weekend programme.
The welcome to conference will be on the Friday morning, and cocktail party on the Friday evening. Our conference dinner will be held at the conference venue on the Saturday night.
Be prepared for delicious food, inspiring teaching and the buzz of spending a weekend with a team of romance writers who are passionate about storytelling.

* Awards Dinner attendance is by purchased ticket only. Please make sure you indicate your attendance when you register. You can also buy additional tickets.
**The Cocktail Party ticket is included in the 3-day and 2-day conference registration price. You can also purchase additional tickets.
Please ensure that if you wish to attend the Cocktail Party (included in price, see above) and/or Awards Dinner (additional price, see above), you select them as products before you ADD TO CART.
If you are coming on the Friday, please choose your workshops in advance when you register (to help us with room/numbers planning). For Saturday & Sunday workshops you can choose on the day at conference.

Chateau on the Park
This is our conference venue, and has a bar and restaurant on site. There is plenty of free, on-site parking and the hotel has a local shuttle (though not to the airport).
We have a room block reserved at the conference venue: Chateau on the Park – Christchurch, a DoubleTree by Hilton, for 8-11th August 2024.

Towers on the Park
This venue is across the road from the conference hotel and has different room options as well as some rooms with a kitchenette. It does not have a bar or restaurant on site, but RWNZ conference attendees can use the facilities at the conference venue. We do not have a conference discount for this hotel, but attendees are welcome to explore the options here.
There are a variety of other accommodation options (motels, Airbnb etc) in the nearby suburb of Riccarton, within walking or short driving distance.

Any person participating in or attending any RWNZ-sponsored conference event must be registered. Individuals who violate this condition will be invoiced for the full non-member event fee plus a 50% penalty. An exception to this policy being member attendance at the RWNZ Annual General Meeting.
Online Registration Tickets/Tax Invoice
Retain all Tickets and Ticket/Tax Invoices sent to you following Registration. The ticket/s is proof of purchase for conference and associated events, and may be requested at the time of registration.
In the unlikely event our programme changes at late notice due to unforeseen circumstances, the changes will be communicated to attendees via the RWNZ website and (where applicable) email.
Payment Plan Options
If you would like to spread out the payment of your conference tickets, please email [email protected] to agree on a payment schedule and amounts.
Conditions: 1. Before 31 May 2024 (i.e. early bird), you may split the total cost over a maximum of four payments. 2. After 1 June 2024 (regular prices), you may split the total cost over a maximum of two payments. 3. Full payment must be received 14 days before the event start date. 4. The first $100 is non-refundable. 5. We are happy to offer this option to members who need it. As it is more work for our volunteers, we ask that you don’t use this option if you don’t need it.
Event refunds and cancellations policy – RWNZ Cancellation
Cancellation by RWNZ of ticketed conference events such as the Conference Dinner, Cocktail Party, Core Conference (Saturday/Sunday) or Friday Workshops will result in registered Attendees receiving a full refund.
You’ll get a 100% refund if cancellation is received before 1st July 2024, less a $50 administration fee.
50% refund is applicable if your cancellation is received after 1st July 2024 and up to 7 days prior to the event.
No refund if cancellation is received within 7 days of the event (except at the discretion of the RWNZ Executive).
Attendees may request a refund due to hardship or other mitigating circumstances. Written requests must be sent to the Conference Committee ([email protected]). Any refund decision will be at the discretion of RWNZ Executive.
Transfer or on-selling of tickets
Fully purchased tickets may only be on-sold or transferred in consultation with and on agreement by the Conference Committee ([email protected]), and may incur a $50 administration fee.
Refunds will be by direct bank deposit and may take up to eight weeks to process.
